The one who was born to be a DJ will never become a fireman. The cherished Pasha’s dream to extinguish fires was not fated to come true. His real vocation is to light the musical fire on the dance-floor.

When Pasha was 13, he took a great interest in electronic music, and his favorite bands KLF, Snap, Front 242, Prodigy, Dust Brothers (who later changed their name into Chemical Brothers), inspired him to become a DJ.

DJ Portnov’s career started in 1997 with the frequent performances at the Moscow “Ultra” club. Then he played at “Ostrov Sokrovisch”, Zeppelin, Jet-Set, Stone, Infiniti, Shambala Dj Bar, Gaudi, etc. Little by little he got the reputation of a very promising and gifted DJ.

DJ Portnov’s musical taste applies to such styles of music as trilal house, progressive house, disco house, jazzy house, deep house, downtempo, louge music.

DJ Portnov gave many performances on a tour all over Russia: he visited St. Petersburg, Ekaterinburg (Isterika and Zebra clubs), Sochi (Plyusch and Gallery clubs, Tinkoff restaurant), Samara (Zvezda club). He also performed on the open-airs in Batumi and Tuapse.

He was lucky to work with Benny Benassi, Sonique, Paul Jackson, K-Klass, Iio, De-javu, Phats & Small, J-jay, The Jnes, Bhangra Knights, John 00 Fleming, Pete Heller, Buron Stingily & Lenny Fontana, Who da funk, Wally Lopez.

DJ Portnov’s performance on Café Del Mar Lounge Festival in 2004 left an unforgettable trace in the hearts of the audience.

In the august of 2005 Pasha was offered to become a resident of the Zeppelin Production label. After numerous tours and club performances, organized by the Zeppelin Production promo group, DJ Portnov has become an official resident of Zeppelin, as well as DJ Katrin Vesna, Housekeeper and Ivan Roudyk.
